Chimney Inspection Services: Trust Us for Quality You Can Count On

Discovering problems with your chimney system doesn’t have to be an unpleasant and expensive surprise. Unfortunately, this is how it goes for many homeowners who don’t have their chimney and fireplace inspected at least once a year. Unexpected issues arise, leading to potentially costly repairs and safety concerns.

Thankfully, the team of certified chimney technicians at Chimney Concepts is here to help you avoid such surprises by providing thorough chimney inspections, maintenance, and expert advice to keep your chimney and fireplace in top-notch condition.

The 3 Levels of Inspection & When They’re Needed

There are 3 levels of chimney inspections, and here at Chimney Concepts, we’re qualified to perform them all. Here’s what each level looks like:

  • Level 1: Level 1 inspections are considered standard, and involve looking at each easily accessible part of the chimney system and attached appliance. If everything is working like normal and you haven’t noticed any problems or made any changes, a Level 1 inspection should suffice.
  • Level 2: Level 2 inspections are performed with the help of a camera, which allows us to get a better look at the entire length of the chimney flue. We’ll check the overall structure and all parts that can be accessed without any sort of demolition, and make sure that the appliance is properly connected. Level 2 inspections should be performed when you’ve noticed changes in system efficiency or operation, when the home is being sold, after a fire or severe weather event, and anytime you are changing fuels, appliances, or flue liners.
  • Level 3: Level 3 inspections are not your typical inspections. These may involve the removal of parts of the chimney system and home and are typically only performed when an issue cannot be identified or resolved with a Level 1 or Level 2 inspection.

Why Schedule Chimney Inspections Annually?

Annual chimney inspections aren’t just recommended by those of us here at Chimney Concepts – they’re also recommended by the industry-leading safety experts at the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Both associations state that all chimneys should be inspected every year, regardless of whether they are used or not.

Why is this recommended? Because regular inspections:

  • reduce the risk of expensive damages
  • minimize the likelihood of experiencing a chimney fire
  • reduce the chance of carbon monoxide or dangerous gases entering your home
  • help us spot (and address) issues early on
  • ensure the safest burn season possible
